Lower-level (remember and understand)
1.) What does it mean to be creative? What type(s) of thinking does it require?
Higher-level (create)
2.) Study the four types of critical thinking at the bottom of page 276. After doing this choose one of the types and create your own situation needing that form of critical thinking. After posing the situation explain why it fits into that type of critical thinking and explain the correct response to the situation.
1). To be create means considering the extraordinary and expanding upon those thoughts. From my experiences, there are those that are naturally more creative than others. I think to be creative, one has to tap into divergent, convergent, and critical thinking.
ReplyDelete2). Convergent thinking is something that is needed when thoughts are centered around one common point. The thinkers pull from experiences, knowledge, and environment to determine what else relates to that common point. Take for instance something like a stomach ache. When you get one, what do you do? You consider the cause...something you ate, something/someone you came into contact with, nervousness?..."the butterflies. You also consider what you could do to fix the stomach ache based on things like past experiences and advice. Then you determine what to do in the future so that you avoid stomach aches. This whole thought process surrounds the topic of stomach aches, but everything that one must consider pulls information from all facets of experiences and the environment.
Tyler, these two questions built on each other and they made me think. I had to apply the knowledge that I had about the topics in the book to create a scenario in number two. i would say this follows Bloom's Taxonomy because I had to apply my knowledge.
