(3) You have now read several views about intelligence. What
do you think about intelligence? Is it one trait or many? More heavily
influenced by nature or nuture? A fixed capacity or a modifiable ability?
Articulate your views in a paragraph of 3-6 sentences.
In my opinion, intelligence is more than one trait and is
influenced by a combination of both nature and nuture. While I believe genetics
has more to do with one’s natural intelligence level, I believe the environment
(teachers, schools, etc.) can help or hinder students’ intellectual growth. I
also believe that intelligence is not a fixed capacity; instead, I believe it
is a modifiable ability because I believe people intellectually change and
develop throughout their entire lives.
